Over the years our clinic has evolved from a premier large animal practice into four premier small animal practices which have been nationally recognized for excellence in patient care and practice management. The original clinic is the Country Doctor Veterinary Clinic in Jefferson, Ohio. In 2011 we opened the Geneva Veterinary Clinic on South Broadway in Geneva, Ohio. The Conneaut Creek Veterinary Clinic opened on West Main Road in Conneaut, Ohio in 2015, and the Ashtabula Harbor Veterinary Clinic on Lake Ave. in 2017. Collectively we call ourselves the Country Doctor Family of Veterinary Clinics. We are proud to be a privately held company!
I truly believe that our incredible Doctors and staff deserve most of the credit for our success. I have had the privilege of working with many amazing people over the years. This has been the greatest pleasure of my long career. If you think about it; a veterinary clinic is just brick, mortar, medicine and equipment. Every clinic has the same 'stuff' and offers the same services. It is the people that set it apart. I have been blessed with the greatest Doctors and staff on the planet! Our continued success and growth are a testimony to these dedicated individuals who have such a passion for helping people and their animals.

Company History
Our journey started in 1978 when Dr. Curie graduated from Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Returning to his native Ashtabula County Ohio to serve the numerous local dairies and other livestock. The Country Doctor Veterinary Clinic, in Jefferson Ohio was built in 1983 and the first associate doctor joined the practice and they started seeing small animals, however the primary focus remained large animal.
In 1996 a horse that he was working on severely injured his neck. He was forced out of large animal practice and transitioned into small animal medicine and practice management. "I love this every bit as much as my large animal days." says Dr. Curie.
During the several year convalescent period after the neck injury Dr. Curie realigned his vision to focus on high quality small animal medicine and practice management. As they say the rest is history.
Dr. Curie's management strategies have been the topic of a feature article in Veterinary Economics, and his practice is one of the 100 practices included in the annual Benchmarks study done by Wuttcheit and Tumblin in conjunction with Veterinary Economics (now DVM 360). Dr. Curie presents practice management topics to groups and private practices.
